The Swans have, not only one of the most entertaining teams around, but also the incomparable Cyril.

We ask the people who really matter – the fans – about their club’s prospects for the season ahead. Here Pete Dando gives us the low-down on the Jacks’ inaugural Premier League campaign.

Are you happy with your summer signings so far?

Made 3 so far, and of them all Danny Graham looks promising. Top scorer in the Championship last season and I believe he can do a job for us in the Premiership. Early days at the moment, and although we could do with a few more positions covered, we are not in the habit of making last minute ‘Transfer Deadline’ signings so who knows!!

How big a loss are De Vries and Pratley?

Darren Pratley was a bit player for us second half of the season, and although he’s been a solid player since we signed him from Fulham in 2006 I wish him all the best with Bolton. De Vries on the other hand will be missed. Whenever the team played 5-a-side in practise sessions he played as an outfield player, which is shown by his ball control and the ability to play from the back as we did. The correct choice goalkeeper could be fundamental to the way we play and for the season ahead.

Realistically who would you like to see brought in before the season starts?

A decent goalkeeper who can play from the back!!

And who would you like to be shown the exit door?

There was a lot of talk about Neil Taylor going to Newcastle, but it is difficult to separate between paper talk and reality. A new season, a new league, everyone has their right to prove themselves.

Happy with the gaffer?

Definately! Martinez was all about scoring more goals than the opposition and Sousa was defence, defence, defence. I feel in Rodgers we have a fine balance, and hopefully, one to entertain the Premiership!!

What are your aims for next term? Is survival everything?

Survival is obviously important but entertainment is a must!!!

Are there any players who could shine in the Prem who the rest of us may not be too aware of?

Joe Allen. Young midfielder, Welsh international, just signed a new contract. Great eye for the pass and doesn’t pull out of a challenge. Also, Ferrie Bodde, fantastic passer of the ball but been out injured for 2 seasons…..all Swansea Jacks are waiting to see if he is back to his best.

What’s the one thing you’d like the manager to change on the pitch from last term?

Be as brave and adventurous playing away like we are at home.

What’s the fixture you’re most looking forward to this year?

Wigan at home, first home game of the season. Show Roberto Martinez (Judas….cough, cough), what he walked out on.

In one sentence sell us the appeal of the Jacks. Why should we look forward to their arrival to the top flight?

A Welsh team in the Premiership! Comfortable on the ball, entertaining football and did I mention, a Welsh team in the Premiership 😉
