Liverpool vs Chelsea – 12:45 Saturday

Liverpool welcome Chelsea back to Anfield for the first time since Chelsea’s 2-0 win over them at the climax of last season, which saw their title hopes slip away. Rodgers and his side will be eager to avenge last season’s result and close the twelve-point gap separating them from their visitors.

Despite being aged 34, Steven Gerrard has covered more ground than any other Liverpool player, including his energetic midfield partner Jordan Henderson, and over the course of his first ten games has clocked up a total distance of 107.4km, averaging out at 10.74km per game. This distance also ranks as the fourteenth highest distance covered in the Premier League, with all those above him being younger than him. Gerrard is also one of only two Liverpool outfield players to have played in every minute of the Premier League. Gerrard is 21/2 to score first with 888sport.

The only other outfield player to have played every minute so far is Dejan Lovren. The defender has made 101 clearances so far this season, the most in the Liverpool squad and the third most in the Premier League, according to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index, meaning he has averaged over ten clearances per game.

So far this season, only Raheem Sterling has completed more dribbles (28) than Philippe Coutinho (14) in the Liverpool squad, with the Brazilian having a considerably less amount of playing time. To put it in to context, Sterling has successfully completed a dribble approximately every 29 minutes, with Coutinho every 33 minutes on average, according to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index.

Chelsea come in to this game off the back of a 2-1 home win over QPR and are still unbeaten, having only dropped points at the two Manchester sides’ grounds. Jose Mourinho will be hoping to get one over his former apprentice again this Saturday at Anfield, but it is likely to be a very tight affair.

Eden Hazard scored his third Premier League goal of the season, dispatching his seventeenth successful penalty from seventeen attempts in the Premier League. The Belgian winger also added a further six dribbles to his total for the season, meaning he has now completed 54 successful dribbles over the first ten games, 24 more than the next closest, Alexis Sanchez. Hazard is 6/1 to score first with 888sport.

Nemanja Matic has been the first name on the teamsheet for Jose Mourinho this year, completing every minute of Premier League football – and it is easy to see why. The imposing Serb has made the fifth most tackles of any player in the entire division, successfully dispossessing the opponent on 36 separate occasions this season, according to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index. Matic has also covered the fourth most ground in the division, running 11.72km per game on average.

There is one player in the Chelsea squad who has run further than this however. Matic’s midfield partner, Cesc Fabregas, has covered an average distance of 11.85km per game, which ranks him third in the division. Combined with Fabregas’ passing ability, he could well offer a big threat to Liverpool this Saturday. The Spaniard has completed 469 passes in the opposition half, which is the most of any Premier League player, and as such he has been rewarded with nine assists, again the greatest total of any Premier League player according to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index.

Burnley vs Hull – 3pm Saturday

This Saturday, Burnley face Hull at Turf Moor in a match that could go either way. Burnley have lost their last three matches and manager Sean Dyche will see this as a winnable game, and will be hoping they can bounce back and win their first game of the season.

Burnley currently have the worst goal difference in the Premier League, but if it wasn’t for Tom Heaton, it could well have been worse. The goalkeeper has recorded 32 saves, according to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index, which is the third most of any Premier League keeper, behind Robert Green and Adrian. Heaton is 19/10 with 888sport to keep a clean sheet this weekend.

In addition to Tom Heaton, defender Jason Shackell has also made a huge effort to improve Burnley’s defensive record in the Premier League, and is a key factor in why Burnley have two clean sheets on the board. Shackell has made more clearances than any other Premier League player, with 125, according to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index, averaging out at 12.5 clearances per game.

Kieran Trippier has been a shining light in the Burnley side this season. According to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index, the right back has put in more successful crosses than any other player in the division, with sixteen, one more than both Dusan Tadic and Stewart Downing. Should Trippier continue to deliver high-quality crosses in to the box, it is only a matter of time before Burnley improve their goalscoring record.

Hull are now without a win in three, though in those three games they picked up two points away to both Arsenal and Liverpool and were unlucky to slip to a 1-0 defeat to in-form Southampton. Steve Bruce will hope these impressive performances can begin to translate in to results, starting with three points against Burnley on Saturday, especially as Hull’s three games following this are against Tottenham, Man Utd and Everton.

Summer signing Abel Hernandez has been impressive when played, and although he is not always a guaranteed starter, he has recorded some impressive statistics. Hernandez has scored three goals in 509 minutes of football as well as getting 70% of his shots on target, according to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index. Hernandez is 13/2 to score first with 888sport.

Mohamed Diame has been very impressive in the middle of the park for Hull this season, and as such has made the fourth most successful tackles in the Premier League with 37. Diame also has the most successful dribbles within the Hull squad (11) and is their joint top scorer on four goals, according to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index.

Hull centre back Curtis Davies has been highly impressive this season. Davies has made the tenth most blocks in the Premier League (9), fifth most interceptions (30) and second most clearances in the entire division (109), according to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index.

Southampton vs Leicester – 3pm Saturday

Southampton have continued their charge at the top of the table, by yet again winning last weekend, away at Hull City. Southampton sit four points off Chelsea at the top of the league, and fans may well be starting to believe that they can genuinely push for a continental qualification spot. It is 1/8 with 888sport for Southampton to win against Leicester.

Morgan Schneiderlin has been extremely impressive in central midfield this season, and it is no wonder why he was highly coveted in the summer. The Frenchman has made the seventh most passes in the opposition half out of any player in the Premier League, with 330. In addition to this, Schneiderlin the most ground out of anyone in the league, averaging a distance of 12.21km per game, making him the only player to have averaged above 12km per game.

Victor Wanyama managed to get himself on the scoresheet for Southampton against Hull last weekend, and the midfielder has an impressive set of statistics to back up his goal. The EA SPORTS Player Performance Index shows that Wanyama has completed 100% of the dribbles he has attempted so far this season (6). Wanyama has also completed 88.02% of his passes successfully this season.

Nathaniel Clyne was this week called up to the England squad, and on the basis of the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index it is thoroughly deserved. The fullback has made the greatest number of successful tackles in the entire Premier League with 50. What is more impressive, is that in doing so, Clyne has only made five fouls, in comparison to those in second and third place who have made 25 and 20 fouls respectively.

Leicester have made the best start to the season of the promoted sides, however still sit in 18th place on nine points. The game against Southampton is set to be a tough challenge, but one that Nigel Pearson will believe he can come out of with a good result.

Leicester have now been unable to score in their last three Premier League games and will be looking to Leonardo Ulloa to help end the drought. The forward started the season in scintillating form but has been unable to help Leicester in their last three games. Ulloa still boasts an impressive scoring record of a goal every 155 minutes, according to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index. Ulloa is 17/2 to score first with 888sport.

Wes Morgan has continued his impressive form at the back, despite the team’s form. The Leicester captain has now made 96 clearances, which is the fifth highest total of any Premier League player, according to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index. Morgan has also made 14 blocks which is the second greatest of any player in the division too.

Ritchie De Laet’s total of 36 successful tackles is the fifth highest total in the league according to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index. Alongside Morgan, they will be hoping to solidify the defence further this weekend, in order to keep the attacking talent of Southampton at bay.

Manchester United v Crystal Palace – 3pm Saturday

Manchester United will be looking to bounce straight back from their derby day defeat last Sunday by finding their fourth win of the season. United find themselves in unfamiliar territory, sitting in tenth position in the league, 13 points behind league leaders Chelsea. The Red Devils look to have mounting defensive issues through injury and suspension and have only managed one goal in their last two matches.

At the back, United have conceded 14 goals already this season, but it could have been a whole lot more if it weren’t for the in-form David De Gea. According to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index, the Spain international has already made 23 saves this season, including five saves last weekend to keep United level in the derby until the 63rd minute. He will need to remain in top form to ensure that United find their first clean sheet in seven games.

At the back, United will be without Marcos Rojo and Chris Smalling through injury and suspension, but the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index illustrates that Rafael has been United’s star defender so far this season. Rafael has won 17 tackles so far this term, which is more than any other defender in the United squad. He has also made 27 clearances, 16 interceptions and two blocks. He is also not afraid to get forward, and having already created one goal this season, will be looking to add to his assists tally.

At the other end of the pitch, last weekend saw United fail to score for the second time this season, but it is clear that they possess an abundance of attacking talent. The EA SPORTS Player Performance Index statistics illustrate this as Wayne Rooney has scored three times this season, with every other shot that has hit the target. Netherlands international captain Robin Van Persie has hit the target more than anybody else in the squad, testing opposition keepers 12 times, finding the net the same amount of times as Rooney. United new boy Angel Di Maria has found the back of the net three times, with a further four assists to his name, and he is 31/10 to score anytime with 888sport.com.

Crystal Palace suffered their third loss in four games to Sunderland on Monday night, which saw them slip perilously close to the danger zone; level on points and goal difference with Leicester in 18th place. Whilst scoring has not been a problem for the Eagles, they have the second worst defensive record in the league and we look to see how they can overcome this and the loss of influential leader Mile Jedinak, who is suspended for the trip north.

As mentioned, Palace are a side capable of scoring goals, especially with two electric wingers in Yannick Bolasie and Wilfried Zaha, with the latter ineligible for the weekend clash. The main man putting the ball in the net though is former United star, Frazier Campbell. The EA SPORTS Player Performance Index reveals that the English striker has three goals to his name, converting over 23% of his chances. The striker has also clocked an impressive 35.13km/h this season, the fastest pace in the Palace squad, and will look to use that pace to get in behind United’s defence. He is 5/1 to score anytime against his old club with 888sport.com.

In the middle of the park, replacing Mile Jedinak is a big ask of Crystal Palace, but that responsibility will likely fall on the shoulders of Wales international Joe Ledley. The EA SPORTS Player Performance Index tells us that he has won 69.23% of his tackles and racked up 15 interceptions already this campaign. He has covered 74.12km so far this season, and will need to ensure he adds to all of these statistics to win the midfield battle on Saturday.

At the back, English full back Joel Ward has started the campaign in impressive style, and has covered 101.3km of ground, completing 466 sprints, as revealed by the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index. He has won 87.5% of his tackles, racking up 40 clearances and 19 interceptions and will need to continue his first class form this weekend, where he will line up against Manchester United record signing Angel Di Maria.

West Ham v Aston Villa – 3pm Saturday

Last weekend’s draw was the first time in four games that West Ham have failed to come away with all three points, seeing them slip one place into fifth. Only Newcastle and league leaders Chelsea can boast equal form to that of the Hammers over the last four games, and they will be looking for a fourth successive home win to take their points tally to 20 after just 11 games.

Only the top three teams in the Premier League, as it stands, can boast a better goal scoring record than West Ham this season, which is partially down to new signings Enner Valencia and Diafra Sakho. The latter will return from injury this weekend and will be a massive boost to the Irons, as illustrated by the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index. The Senegalese striker has bagged five goals already, averaging a goal every 111.6 minutes. What is more impressive is that 71.4% of his shots on target have ended up in the net. He is 23/20 to score anytime with 888sport.com.

Another goal threat comes in the form of winger Stewart Downing, whose impressive performances of late have seen boss Sam Allardyce state that Downing should be in the frame for an England call-up. The EA SPORTS Player Performance Index illustrates the extent of Downing’s form, with two goals and four assists to his name. He has completed more than twice the amount of crosses that any other West Ham player has, with 15 in total and has covered 104.25km of ground so far this campaign. Combining these facets with having been clocked at a top speed of 35.05km/h, he will be a threat for the full 90 minutes.

Whilst rumors circulate in the public eye around Winston Reid, the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index can clearly show what a valuable asset he has been to the Hammers. He has played a vital role for the East Londoners so far this term, winning a staggering 92.3% of his tackles. The New Zealand international has also racked up an impressive 91 clearances and 14 interceptions, whilst proving he is equally adept on the ball by completing 82.76% of his passes and getting himself on the score sheet for good measure.

Aston Villa are looking to end their run of poor form this weekend with their first win in seven games. Last weekend’s defeat to Tottenham saw the Villans net their first goal in six games, where they led until going down to ten men and were eventually beaten by an injury time deflected free kick. This should give Villa cause to be optimistic, and hopefully that can restore the good form that saw them sit in second place after four games.

One man who will be happy after last weekend is Andreas Weimann, who returned to goal scoring form with the opening goal of the game. The EA SPORTS Player Performance Index reveals that the Villa front man has bagged three goals so far this term, netting 75% of his shots on target. He is also not afraid to work hard for the side, winning 70.58% of his tackles and completing a squad best 573 sprints. He is 17/5 to score anytime with 888sport.com.

In the middle of the park, Villa will be hoping that Ashley Westwood will be able to get a stranglehold in the game, by overcoming his West Ham counterparts. The 24 year old English central midfielder has won 66.6% of his tackles, making 20 clearances and 10 interceptions already this campaign. He has covered more ground than any other Villa squad member, with 104.4km, and will be looking to use his energy at both ends of the pitch to help deliver three points for the Villa faithful.

The key to Villa’s early season success was a solid defence, which saw them concede just one goal in four games in comparison to the 15 that they have shipped in their last six games. Villa’s Dutch international Ron Vlaar will be crucial to this, as illustrated by the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index. The World Cup semi finalist has won 100% of his tackles so far this season, made 30 clearances, six interceptions and five blocks.

QPR v Man City – 5:30pm Saturday

Rangers will go into this game with confidence after a battling display at league leaders Chelsea saw them lose out to what they may deem a controversial penalty. However, the R’s still find themselves in the relegation zone but a third home win of the campaign could see them climb out of the danger zone.

One man who has been crucial to the Loftus Road side is 25-year-old English striker Charlie Austin, who has bagged five of Rangers’ 9 goals so far this campaign. The EA SPORTS Player Performance Index tells us of his great form so far this season as 50% of his shots hitting the target have hit the back of the net, hitting the target more than double the amount of times that his teammates have. He has completed 396 sprints and will look to work equally hard this weekend. He is 5/2 to score anytime with 888sport.com.

With just nine goals from 10 games, QPR will be focusing on adding to that tally with a side that is likely to also feature Eduardo Vargas. The 24 year old Chilean has started the season in impressive form as backed up by the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index, as he has already bagged two goals, converting 33.3% of his shots. He has also been involved in a further two goals with assists, and his hard work is illustrated by his seven tackles won, four clearances and five interceptions. He will be working as hard as ever this weekend and is the creative spark in the R’s line-up to watch out for.

At the back, Rangers will need their number one shot stopper Rob Green to be in top form once again to help lift them out of the relegation zone. The former England keeper has, according to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index, made more saves than any other Premier League keeper so far this season with 38. He will be looking to add to this tally and increase his 65.52% of shots saved this term.

Man City made it four wins from five last weekend with their 1-0 win in the Manchester Derby, confirming that the city is blue once more. What is necessary is that City continue in the same vain and have everyone firing at 100% to make it back to back wins and start up another run to keep within touching distance of leaders Chelsea.

There is no doubt that Sergio Aguero is the form player for City, as he proved by bagging the only goal of the game last weekend to secure victory over their Manchester rivals. The EA SPORTS Player Performance Index reveals that he has managed 10 goals in as many games by hitting the target more than anybody else in the Premier League; 26 times to be precise. He has also completed 26 dribbles and has been clocked at a top speed of 34.66km/h, so he will look to combine these against the QPR backline. He is 7/10 to score anytime with 888sport.com.

In the middle, David Silva has so far proved to be the main man for City, as illustrated by the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index. The Spanish magician has both created and scored two goals so far this campaign, however it is his 86.82% pass completion rate that is most impressive. He has also completed 384 of his passes in the opposition half and it is here where his wizardry is likely to hurt QPR if he sees too much of the ball.

City skipper Vincent Kompany is the only player in the squad to have played every minute of every Premier League game this year, and the ever present rock is having a great season as highlighted by the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index. He is just as adept with the ball at his feet as his Spanish colleague, completing 88.82% of his passes and his 18 interceptions and 43 clearances illustrate his reading of the play. He will need to be on top form to help deliver what would be their fourth clean sheet of the season.

Sunderland v Everton – 1:30pm Sunday

Sunderland will go into this clash in optimistic mood after Monday nights 3-1 win over Crystal Palace saw them leapfrog the Londoners and climb out of the relegation zone. Sunderland will be looking for their first back-to-back wins in the Premier League since May, when they beat West Brom having already inflicted Ryan Giggs’ first managerial defeat.

Only one of the sides above Sunderland have scored fewer goals, but Steven Fletcher looks to be going into the game in good goal scoring form, having scored a brace on Monday night. The EA SPORTS Player Performance Index reveals that the Black Cats’ striker has scored his four goals from just 12 shots, converting 33.3% of his chances. Averaging a goal every 142 minutes, the Scottish forward is 12/5 to score anytime with 888sport.com.

In the middle of the park, Lee Cattermole is one of only two players player to have played every minute of Premier League football for the Black Cats this season, and the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index clearly shows why. The centre midfielder has won 25 tackles, made 29 clearances and also made 24 interceptions this season. He has covered 107.27km already this season, more than anyone else in the Sunderland squad and this energy and combative style will be crucial to Sunderland’s chances this weekend.

The only other outfield player to have played every minute for Sunderland so far this season is former Manchester United John O’Shea. The EA SPORTS Player Performance Index shows that the Black Cats skipper has won 93.75% of his tackles so far this term in addition to making 53 clearances and 12 interceptions. He will be a vital element to Sunderland keeping their third clean sheet of the season, but will hope that it results in three points rather than a third goalless draw of the season.

This weekend’s visitors to the Stadium of Light, Everton, have picked up seven points from a possible nine and will go into the game with good reason to be optimistic.

At the back, England’s first choice left back Leighton Baines has played every minute of every game so far this season, as highlighted by the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index. Whilst he has only managed one goal this season, he has six assists to his name, having completed nine crosses; more than anybody else in the Everton squad. Defensively, he has performed equally impressively, having won 77.78% of his tackles, also making 30 clearances and 12 interceptions.

In front of Baines and his fellow defenders, Gareth Barry has started the season in typically imperious form, as the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index reveals. He has completed a squad best 691 passes, with a completion rate of 89.27%. Off the ball, his play is equally exceptional, having made a squad best 20 interceptions. Everton will need their main man in the middle of the park to be on top form both on the ball and reading the play to help win the midfield battle.

Up top, there is no question that Everton’s record signing Romeu Lukaku is starting to hit top form, with four goals to his name this season. According to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index, Lukaku has hit a top speed of 35.42km/h and it is this pace that will worry the Sunderland back line. The Belgian striker has completed 376 sprints already this season, and the combination of his pace, power and hard work means that he is 11/8 to score anytime with 888sport.com.

Tottenham vs Stoke – 1:30pm Sunday

Tottenham launched a stunning fightback in the final ten minutes against Aston Villa to come back from a goal down to win 1-2 thanks to goals from Nacer Chadli and Harry Kane. Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping for another win this weekend to help his developing side build on this newfound momentum.

Striker Kane is rapidly building a reputation as one the best young strikers in the Barclays Premier League and despite his limited playing time in the league, the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index shows the contribution he’s able to make. Despite playing just 95 minutes this season, he’s already racked up three attempts, all of which have been on target. Kane is 25/19 to score at any time with 888sport.com.

Despite being just 20 years of age, and in his first season of English football, Eric Dier is clearly adapting quickly to the rigours of the Barclays Premier League. The young defender has attempted the second highest number of challenges in the Spurs squad (behind only Etienne Capoue (35)) with 31, winning an excellent 80.6% of them and conceding just eight fouls.

Captain Younes Kaboul has been leading from the front for Spurs this season. The EA SPORTS Player Performance Index shows the big defender as making 131 defensive contributions (blocks, clearances, tackles won, interceptions), the highest total in the Spurs squad and one which marks him as the only Tottenham player to have moved into triple figures in this category this season.

Goals from Victor Moses and Mame Biram Diouf were not enough for Stoke last time out as they let a 2-0 lead slip to draw 2-2 with West Ham at The Britannia.

The Stoke defence can take pride in the way they’ve protected ‘keeper Asmir Begovic on the whole this season.  He’s made the least saves of any stopper in the league to have played more than 800 minutes, with only 12 according to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index. On average that’s just one save every 75 minutes.

Perhaps key to this is the willingness of Begovic’s captain, Ryan Shawcross, to throw himself in front of attempts on his goal. The Potters’ commanding centre half has been in typically robust form this term, registering the third highest number of blocks in the Barclays Premier League this season (13).

Victor Moses is apparently enjoying his time at the Britannia Stadium where he has had the chance to rack up more minutes on the pitch than at some of his previous clubs. He’s been once of their most active attacking outlets too, attempting a squad-high 28 crosses, as well as completing 58% of his 50 dribbles this season. Moses is 6/1 to score at any time this weekend with 888sport.com.

West Bromwich Albion vs Newcastle – 1:30pm Sunday

An own goal from Leicester’s Esteban Cambiasso saw West Brom leave the King Power Stadium with all three points last weekend. Alan Irvine will be hoping for another three points this weekend as they look to continue their march up the table.

Craig Gardner may be a crucial lynchpin of the West Brom midfield, but the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index shows he has some work to do on his discipline as the season progresses. Although he’s won 75% of his 48 challenges, he’s given away 23 fouls in the process, the joint second highest total in the Barclays Premier League, level with Sunderland’s Conor Wickham and behind only Crystal Palace’s Mile Jedinak (25).

Striker Saido Berahino has been grabbing the headlines this season after some impressive performances. The young frontman has so far registered an excellent 22 shots on goal, 63.6% of which have been on target according to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index. Expect him to look to test out the Newcastle back four this weekend with his pace and movement. Berahino is 7/5 with 888sport.com to score at any time this weekend.

No West Brom player has been more active in the opponent’s half than James Morrison so far this season. The Scottish international has completed more passes in the opponent’s half than any other Baggies player, with 218 to his name.

Ayoze Perez struck yet again for Newcastle as they moved into the top half of the table thanks to a 1-0 win over Liverpool at St James’ Park.

Newcastle Utd have started to dig themselves out of a sticky situation at the foot of the table, the players rallying around Alan Pardew following some heavy criticism. They players have clearly wanted to show their support for their manager by putting in the yards on the pitch, something the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index clearly demonstrates. Three members of the Magpies’ squad have covered more than 100km in total on-pitch distance this season (Colback – 116.8km; Sissoko – 110.2km; Janmaat 107.9km), with Fabricio Coloccini not far behind on 951km. It must please their manager to see such effort and he will be hoping for a similar showing at The Hawthorns this weekend.

Ayoze Perez has shown a keen eye for goal since arriving on Tyneside, netting twice in quick succession in recent weeks. His movement has seen him carve out five chances for himself so far this season, working the ‘keeper with 60% of them. He may well be a key figure in Alan Pardew’s plans if he can continue in this kind of form. Perez is 45/17 with 888sport.com to score at any time this weekend.

Fabricio Coloccini’s class at the back has been shining through for Newcastle this season. The captain has attempted 20 challenges throughout his 900 minutes of football so far this term, winning 90% of them and conceding just five fouls according to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index.

Swansea vs Arsenal – 4pm Sunday

Garry Monk’s Swansea had to settle for a point last weekend against visitors Everton. They face another tough task this weekend as Arsenal head to the Liberty Stadium.

The threat of Wilfried Bony is well known by Premier League defences, the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index bearing them out on then concerns. Not only does he rank joint 4th in the league for shots on target this season (14 – level with Saido Bershino and Graziano Pelle), he also has the highest number of clearances of any player in the top 15 in the league in this category with 12. The big striker clearly not only poses problems up front but also makes use of stature when defending set pieces at the back. Bony is 24/13 to score at any time this weekend with 888sport.com.

Angel Rangel’s reading of the game has been superb this season and he may well be vital this weekend if the Swans are to stymy Arsenal’s fluid passing game and the movement of their forward players. He ranks joint second in the Barclays Premier League for interceptions according to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index with 31 to his name (level with Ritchie de Laet and Younes Kaboul).

His defensive colleague Ashley Williams has also been turning in some stellar all-round defensive performances for Garry Monk’s side this season.  The EA SPORTS Player Performance Index shows him ranking third in the league for total defensive contributions (blocks, tackles won, clearances, interceptions) this term with 153 to his name. As part of this statistic he has won an impressive 92.3% of his 13 attempted challenges.

Arsenal won back-to-back in the league last weekend as they beat Burnley 3-0 at the Emirates. A brace from Alexis Sanchez, followed by Calum Chambers’ first goal for the Gunners, saw them remain in the top four.

Alexis Sanchez has been rightly hailed as one of the brightest points in a mixed Arsenal season to date. The Chilean international has fitted seamlessly into the Arsenal system and has impressed fans with the workrate and tenacity that accompanies his skill. He was particularly impressive against Burnley last weekend, registering six shots on goal, which brought his total for the season to 21, 71.4% of which have been on target. He will likely be one of Arsenal’s main outlets again at the Liberty Stadium. Sanchez is 16/13 to score at any time this weekend with 888sport.com.

Feeding the likes of Sanchez has once again been Santiago Cazorla, the little Spaniard relishing the chance to play behind a raft of pacy attacking talent. Cazorla is Arsenal’s highest-ranked player for completed passes in the opponent’s half this season, with 352 to his name according to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index.

Despite his tender years, Calum Chambers has already proved he can handle  the expectation placed on him since joining Arsenal in the summer. According to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index he’s racked up more defensive contributions (blocks, clearances, tackles won, interceptions) than any other Arsenal player, as well as winning a solid 72.7% of his 33 attempted challenges.
