6pm this evening sees the welcome inclusion of England’s World Cup winning captain and all-round class act Bobby Moore into EA Sports FIFA 15 Ultimate Team Legends pack.
Moore has long been the benchmark of immaculate defending – the kind of player who’d mark Pele out of a game while barely breaking sweat – so it’s little surprise that Frank Lampard declared yesterday that the former West Ham and Fulham stopper would have little difficulty in dealing with the superstars of today’s era.
“Messi and Ronaldo…with his quality across the board, he would be able to deal with all of them”.
Lampard was speaking with his father who played alongside the player who accumulated 108 international caps during a prestigious career. Frank Snr revealed the calm qualities that made Moore such a fantastic leader – “If you give a ball away Bobby would never moan at you, he’d just give you a look, a look that said “we don’t do that here, we have to keep the ball”. He is the greatest captain England ever had and England ever will have”.
Bobby’s inclusion in the game is in partnership with The Bobby Moore Fund. Bobby’s widow Stephanie said: “It’s amazing to see Bobby lace-up his boots and step out on to the pitch in a football video game. I’m so proud that a new generation of fans who never saw Bobby play will now be able to see what a wonderful player he was.”
