Three Lions goalkeeping legend David Seaman was never a player you associated with panic and he’s not about to start now as England prepare to face Wales tomorrow in their crucial Group B clash.

Speaking with 888sport the 75-cap stopper has urged Roy Hodgson to stick with his starting eleven from last Saturday’s draw against Russia while exuding the same aura of confident calm you’d expect from a keeper who regularly kept the likes of Batistuta and Ronaldo at bay.

“I don’t think there needs to be any changes because we played well as a team. We showed great confidence and we showed no fear, which is a change for an opening game of a EURO competition or World Cup.   I think people are getting a little bit carried away with criticism when there was a lot of positives to be taken from that first game.”

Feeling more relaxed yet England fans? Well you should be because Seaman is also unconcerned about the perceived weakness in the team’s make-up, that of their defence.

“There was a worry leading in to the tournament and people were saying that the defense is the weak link but you know it’s a strong weak link, let’s not get away from that. On Saturday against the Russians they coped really well with a giant of a centre forward and let’s see if it gets tested against Wales.  Hopefully it doesn’t; hopefully Joe has got nothing to do and we win about 2 or 3-0.”
