Ex-England striker Andy Johnson is still entrenched in contract talks with Fulham and, with just a year remaining on it, the Cutter understands that Martin Jol is preparing for life without him. The Craven Cottage outfit are not willing to let their front man leave for nothing next summer and Jol has already intimated he is getting frustrated at the lack of progress made during the negotiations, telling the Fulham Chronicle, ‘We’ve talked to him over the last month and hopefully we can agree something, but if not we have to get on with it. If there was a club interested in him you could think about it (selling him)’

Rumoured suitors who are keeping close tabs on the situation include Norwich, QPR and Leicester.
