David Beckham has publicly declared himself ‘honoured’ to be linked with a possible Novermber move to Paris Saint Germain after their boss Leonardo said this week, “The door is open. He is more than a football player – he’s a brand, a pop star. I would always consider him. He respects the rules, listens to you and wants the best for the team. That’s why for me he is a big example. I worked with him and that’s why I talk about his name”.
The ex-England skipper, now at LA Galaxy, becomes a free agent in November when the American football season draws to a close. PSG meanwhile were taken over by Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) during the summer and are seeking marquee signings to compliment their table-topping current squad that includes Javier Pastore who arrived from Palermo in August for a staggering forty million Euros.
Beckham told Canal+ this weekend, “It’s exciting, great things are happening in France. Leonardo has arrived, there’s a lot of money. I will wait until the end of the season and see how I feel and then I will decide”.
Expect plenty of stories linking the player to his boyhood favourites Spurs but it seems the squeeky-voiced walking tattoo could well become Le Goldenballs very soon.
