It is looking increasingly likely that Arsenal’s out-of-favour striker Marouane Chamakh will be leaving the Emirates this January with Roma now joining the list of possible destinations for the disillusioned Moroccan. Chamakh has struggled to establish himself in the Gunners’ front line and has fallen down the pecking order to such an extent that Arsene Wenger is now looking to bring in a fresh face to pep up his failing attack. Selling the 27-year old would represent good business for Arsenal who brought him over from Bordeaux on a free transfer in May 2010.
There is no shortage on interest in the player with his former employers currently heading the queue along with fellow French sides PSG and FC Lorient also following developments. Now that Roma have staked a claim (according to an Italian source) the race for his signiture may well hot up further.
