Steve McClaren is the strong front-runner to fill the Club Brugge managerial vancancy and was rumoured to be at St Andrews last night to personally oversee his potential new side take on Birmingham in the Europa Cup. The Belgian outfit sacked their coach Adrie Koster this week following a string of defeats which included a thriling 5-4 reverse to Genk. Their current caretaker boss Rudy Verkempinck has confimred that McClaren is ‘on the list’ whilst other reports claim the ‘wally with the brolly’ is virtually a shoo-in for the position.
The Cutter would like to see this happen if only to see Schteve do a Hercules Poirot impersonation in the coming weeks during interviews.
