Manchester United fans were quick to tear the performance of Ashley Young to pieces against Barcelona as the full back had a night to forget on Wednesday.
Coming up against the likes of Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi, the man wearing the Red Devils’ captain armband struggled at both ends of the pitch and he was savaged on Twitter by the Old Trafford support.
The Daisy Cutter has picked out a selection of the Manchester United fans’ raging tweets:
Young is woeful #mufc

Ashley Young, please leave the club.

Is Young’s time at Old Trafford coming to an end? You would not be surprised to see Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hunting down a new full back in the summer to take his place and if that is the case, will he be happy acting as backup? You suspect not – but is he going to find a team who can afford him where he can get regular game time? Again, you would struggle to come up with an answer.
Ashley young is nothing more than an oxygen stealer #MUFC

Ashley Young should be miles away from Manchester ! Doesn’t deserve playing for us one bit #mufc

A little harsh from this particular fan. Young has been a loyal servant at Old Trafford and is by no means a natural wing back – as Wednesday night’s performance demonstrated. He has been shoehorned into the role and done a good enough job to make it his own but that does not mean he should stay there.
Ashley Young is atrocious. #MUFC

Ashley Young should be replaced now. Worthless #MUFC

Worthless? Not quite. You can imagine someone would spend a couple of million on his capture.
