A section of Aston Villa fans were blown away by the stunning performance of John McGinn in their 2-1 win against Rotherham at the New York Stadium on Wednesday night.
Supporters took to Twitter after the game to lavish praise on the Scotland international, who played a key role in an inspired second-half performance that saw the 10 men of Villa come from behind to earn all three points.
The Daisy Cutter has rounded up a selection of tweets from Aston Villa fans below:
£2.5m for McGinn was unbelievably good business. For this, Brucey, we all thank you #mcginn #avfc

At least Steve Bruce did something right during his spell at Villa Park. McGinn was a great signing in the summer and Villa fans should be thankful that Celtic did not beat them to his signature.
Nice to be back home, pool tomorrow then roll on Saturday! Mcginn man of the match tonight, he is an absolute steam train!!! pic.twitter.com/oA6NWgolnR

Brilliant goal and brilliant as he is …. this is where stats don't paint a true picture.
John McGinn was MOTM imo https://t.co/Za9k6A3hJL

McGinn was definitely Aston Villa’s best player against Rotherham. Jack Grealish was superb in the second-half as well as the former Hibernian midfielder, but we believe that these fans have made the right choice here.
McGinn isn't human I'll swear. & Elmo was outstanding.

McGinn and Jack were like men possessed in that second half. Like we had two extra men, they're running was incredible. Never ever seen a performance as gutsy as that from Villa, unbelievable. So proud man.

After such a hard-earned win, it is great to see so many players getting praise from fans as well as McGinn. It just shows that it was a complete team performance by the Villans to get a win despite being a goal down, and a man down, at half-time. Many other teams in the division would have crumbled at that point.
John McGinn is that good I reckon he could sort brexit out and still be back in time for training this morning. #avfc

He would do a better job than Theresa May, that’s for sure!
