Will only the title constitute a successful season for Chelsea this term?
No, I think a respectable league position and to challenge for the title is what matters this season, which means that coming in the top four is key. A title is still on the cards.
Are you happy with the appointment of Di Matteo?
Very, I feel that he deserved the job after the miracles he displayed during last season, especially being that he won Chelsea’s first Champion’s league. To recover from AVB’s disasterus run of form was very good and what most pundits thought would be impossible.
What’s your view on the signings made so far?
I just can’t wait to see them in action, especially the likes of Eden Hazard and Oscar who both look like hot prospects for the future. Hazard has already proved himself to be a world class player after his spells in Ligue 1 with Lille. Whereas Oscar is slightly more of an unknown quantity to me but after games for Brazil in the Olympics I have been impressed with his performances. Marko Marin also looks like a great player with quick feet and someone I feel has been underated in recent years.
Who would you personally like to see brought in?
Edinson Cavani would be a great addition to the squad. There has been rumours linking him to Chelsea and I really hope they are true.
Given five minutes of Di Matteo’s time what one change would you urge him to make?
I think its too early to make that call, after the first few games I think it will become easier to say.
Is there a young player coming through who could make his mark this season?
Romelu Lukaku, I think he is a great player with amazing potential. He has been loaned out to West Brom which I think was a good move and he will get plenty of playing time to develop his skills and gain some vital experience in the big leagues.
Any player you’d like to be shown the exit door?
Raul Merieles. I would like to see him go because most of his performances last season looked like he had been asked to play for the other team due to his inability to pass the ball to one of his team mates. It was just awful. Sure he had his days but most of them were bad.
Which game do you want to win the most?
Against the likes of Manchester City and United. Also I think to win big Champions league games are crucial to a successful campaign.
