This year’s 2018 FIFA World Cup will be the 21st tournament and it will take place in Russia from 14 June to 15 July 2018. The tournament will be contested by 32 men’s national teams and will be the first held in Europe since the 2006 tournament in Germany, and the first ever to be held in Eastern Europe.

The venues in Russia are ready and the fans can hardly wait for the excitement to begin. This World Cup might be the largest ever and break records for fans viewing attending and betting.

Back in England, even as players and fans ready themselves to support their favorite players on the national team, they are still awestruck by Manchester City’s record breaking 2017-18 season. Here is a list of the records the club set or tied this season.

Most Wins in a Season – Last year Chelsea set the season record for wins with 30 and many thought that record would last for some time. However City recorded 32 wins only one season after that feat.

Most Consecutive Wins in a Season – Two former clubs Chelsea and Arsenal had 13 game win streaks previously. That records was smashed this year as Manchester City had an amazing 18 game winning streak.

Most Away Wins in a Season – The team played well at home and on the road leading to a new level of success at their opponent’s home stadiums. City set a league record of 16 away wins this year beating the previous record of 15.

Most Points in a Season – Perhaps the most amazing feat City accomplished this year was to become the first club to ever reach triple digits in points. The club scored an amazing 100 on the last day of the season. The previous high mark was the 2004-05 Jose Mourinho Chelsea club.

Largest Winning Margin – Their 19 points clear of the pack tops the 18 points clear that Sir Alex Ferguson’s 1999-2000 Manchester United team led Arsenal by. Ironically, Man City beat Man U by the 19 point margin this year.

Most Club Goals in a Season – The City club became the most prolific goal scoring team in history in 2017-18. With 106 goals this year that topped the previous record of 103 held by Chelsea in 2009-10

Biggest Goal Difference in a Season – Their dominance was evident nowhere more than in their ability to both score and keep opponents from scoring. City had a +79 differential on the season beating the previous record of +71.

And the success the club had in 2017-18 of course could not be attained without the guidance of an exceptional manager. And he aws recognized by the league in record breaking fashion as well. Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola set a new record for the Manager of the Month Awards with four.

Those lucky enough to make online bets on Man City winning it all in record breaking fashion were fully rewarded for their faith. The English Football Betting Guide has City as the favorite to repeat in the Premiere League and with no significant injuries to the club, they are picked to match or even surpass their record setting 2017-18 campaign.

Of course the other top clubs are scrambling with adjustments to their teams to make sure that this does not happen. With the other teams pride on the line, 2018-19 looks to be the most exciting in a long while in the Premiere League.
