Leeds United supporters were left overjoyed with the sight of Gaetano Berardi getting another run out on Tuesday night after his injury nightmare this season.
Coming off the bench against Preston North End for just his second appearance since October, a serious hamstring injury sidelining him for most of the campaign, the Swiss star got around 20 minutes of game time under his belt, much to the delight of the Elland Road faithful on Twitter.
The Daisy Cutter has gathered a selection of the Leeds fans’ joyous tweets:
and now Berardi’s getting 15 minutes. I don’t hate football anymore.

It has been a roller-coaster for Leeds fans this season, although you imagine there have been more ups than downs. Berardi’s major injury blow was just one of a number of problems suffered by the Whites but with Berardi and Kemar Roofe both back, things are looking up once again.

Has to be said… 'Bam Bam' Bamford. Two-Nil up. Loving it. And Berardi on. What a night. #lufc

Seeing Berardi on the picture brings me too much joy

Win, clean sheet, Bamford scoring, Roofe and Berardi back is it Christmas already?

It might not be Christmas but you can be sure if Leeds seal promotion it will be like bonfire night in that particular part of Yorkshire.
Best thing about tonight is seeing Roofe, Berardi and Forshaw on the pitch looking sharp. Returning players could be vital for the run in

Three very different players in three very different roles, but all of the could make a difference before the season is out. Roofe and Forshaw might be expected to return to the starting XI at some point while Berardi acts as cover for the defence, but do not be surprised to see the Swiss ace getting more and more minutes as we reach the end of the campaign.

A fine point to finish off. Having silky players is all well and good but when the going gets tough you need someone to take the game by the scruff of its neck. Berardi is exactly that sort of player and that is what Biela’s men might need – so long as he does not get sent off, of course.
